Premise[]
Kousei Arima is a child prodigy pianist. After his mother, who was also his piano instructor, passes away, he has a mental breakdown while performing at a recital and is no longer able to hear the sound of his piano playing, even though his hearing is otherwise unobstructed. Two years later, Kousei hasn’t performed or practiced the piano and is depressed, viewing the world in monotone. Kaori Miyazono, a pretty, free-spirited violinist whose playing style reflects her personality, helps Kousei reignite his passion for the piano and start seeing the world in color again.
